Warm and welcoming staff make this place really special!
A really lovely place to stay. Extremely warm and welcoming staff who immediately make you feel like a valued guest.
Rooms aren’t fancy but they are large, with comfortable beds, lots of blankets and a heater.
Breakfast was tasty and generous especially as it was included in the room rate.
We initially only had one night booked here but decided to book another night there a week later after visiting Machu Picchu because we were so impressed by the warm welcome we received.
Highly recommended.
Amazing Service!
We stayed here for 4 days. From the beginning, we felt the warm welcome by the staff. As soon as we arrived, they offered us Mate de Coca, a local herbal tea to help acclimate (it works!).Our rooms were super clean and spacious. We had a king size bed and twin size, which was enough for my family of 4. Bathrooms were clean, and ran hot water, which was a must for us. They kept our rooms clean and offered clean towels upon request. Breakfast was great, a lot to choose from. They even accommodated an earlier breakfast one morning since one of our tours was in the crack of dawn. Overall, our stay at «Hotel Sol del Oriente» was more than we expected. It was safe, and clean. I would be glad to come back here in the future.
Convenient, friendly, helpful staff
We stayed at this hotel for 2 nights.
Great buffet breakfast. Clean, comfortable rooms. Wifi in hallway worked well once you figure out what network it is.
Can walk to the Plaza del Armas within 15 minutes.
All in all thumbs up.
Good value really.
The photos in fairness are a little misleading tbh so don’t expect anything amazing (search on google you’ll find some). When we pulled up the driveway entrance looked so shabby we thought it had closed down tbh. But once you walk up the path and into the reception its all change. With the exception of the pool. The complex and rooms, well one we stayed in, was clean and more than comfortable. We were amazed how there weren’t more guests there tbh. It’s a little dated tbh but for $40 a night for a twin it’s perfectly reasonable. Also as the rooms are off the road it’s way better than the city and its noisy transport issues. If you stay in the city realise that road noise is a horror from about 5am. Motor tricycle engines and beeping.
Great air conditioning, beautiful pool, fantastic breakfast, brilliant staff
If you are looking for a quiet, comfortable, reasonably-priced hotel with a pool and excellent breakfast, this hotel is perfect. The staff is fantastic! They brought us a welcome treat of fresh coconuts with the top cut off and a straw to drink the coconut water. They helped us with great suggestions and assistance in every way. The wi fi is excellent. The hotel is outside of downtown on the road from the airport to downtown, and it’s quiet and spacious. It’s easy and inexpensive to get a mototaxi to downtown or to the airport. The breakfast is really nice, and is served in a comfortable and clean dining room with delicious fresh juice. The pool and pool area is large and is a welcome retreat after a hot day downtown. This hotel and its staff are excellent.
My Favorite Hotel In Pucallpa
Hotel Sol del Oriente is not new. It is not fancy. There is no concierge. You won’t find chocolates on your pillow at night. But this is the favorite hotel for my friends, my wife and me, whenever we are in Pucallpa. I have stayed here at minimum twenty times. When you fly into Pucallpa on any of the airlines, Jesus the driver from the hotel will be in the baggage claim area. He’ll just plain be there. So there’s your ride.
Pucallpa was pretty nasty when I started traveling there over ten years ago. It was seedy and quite crummy downtown. But a serious rehab of the entire downtown area has made this waterfront town much better to visit. There’s good food, the streets are safe, transport is cheap, and the waterfront is never more than a couple of minutes away. The very center of town is now a walking avenue, and in the evening there is a lively scene along the boulevard. Sol del Oriente is beside that promenade.
